A classic Italian dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked biscuits and a creamy mascarpone filling.
Ingredients

- 4 eggs
- 100 g sugar
- 500 g mascarpone
- 200 ml strong coffee
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder
- A splash of rum (optional)
Instructions
- Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
- Beat the yolks with sugar until the mixture turns pale.
- Gently incorporate the mascarpone.
- Whip the egg whites and fold them into the mixture.
- Quickly dip the ladyfingers in coffee and place a layer at the bottom of a dish.
- Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the biscuits.
- Repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Finish with a layer of mascarpone and dust with cocoa.
- Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve cold and consider garnishing with extra cocoa or chocolate shavings for a beautiful presentation.
