Description

A classic Italian dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked biscuits and a creamy mascarpone filling.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 500 g mascarpone
  • 200 ml strong coffee
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder
  • A splash of rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
  2. Beat the yolks with sugar until the mixture turns pale.
  3. Gently incorporate the mascarpone.
  4. Whip the egg whites and fold them into the mixture.
  5. Quickly dip the ladyfingers in coffee and place a layer at the bottom of a dish.
  6. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the biscuits.
  7. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
  8. Finish with a layer of mascarpone and dust with cocoa.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve cold and consider garnishing with extra cocoa or chocolate shavings for a beautiful presentation.
