Description

Classic Italian dessert made with coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 eggs
  • 375 g mascarpone
  • 75 g sugar
  • Coffee
  • 25 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder
  • Vanilla extract
  • Caramel (optional)

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
  2. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the mascarpone and vanilla extract, then gently mix.
  4. Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the previous mixture.
  5. Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee and place them at the bottom of a dish.
  6. Spread a layer of mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat by alternating layers of ladyfingers and cream.
  8. Finish with a layer of cream and sprinkle with cocoa powder.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
  10. Drizzle with caramel if desired.

Notes

Serve chilled, decorated with extra cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
