Description

Ingredients

  • 45 apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 50g brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 50g butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  4. Roll out the pie crust in a pie dish, leaving some excess dough for folding.
  5. Fill the crust with the apple mixture, distributing evenly.
  6. Dot the apples with pieces of butter.
  7. Cover the tart with a second dough layer or create a lattice with the remaining dough.
  8. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden and apples are tender.
  10. Let it cool before serving.
