  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Your choice of dipping sauce (ranch or blue cheese)

Instructions

  1. Begin by rinsing the chicken wings under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken wings to the marinade, cover, and let them sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
  3. In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Once marinated, remove the wings from the refrigerator. Carefully coat the wings in a bit of flour if you want them extra crispy. Fry the wings in batches for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Once cooked, place the wings on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
