Ingredients
Scale
- 500g flour
- 10g salt
- 30g sugar
- 10g yeast
- 200ml warm water
- 200g butter, at room temperature
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast ensuring the yeast is well incorporated.
- Gradually add warm water and knead the dough until smooth and homogeneous.
- Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread butter over the top two-thirds.
- Fold the dough like a letter, sealing the edges.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Repeat the folding process twice more.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
- Shape the dough into triangles and roll from the base to the tip to form croissants.
- Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For storage, keep at room temperature for 1-2 days or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
