Description

A creamy and savory chestnut and chickpea hummus, perfect for holiday gatherings and easy to prepare.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g cooked chestnuts
  • 100g chickpeas (canned or cooked)
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Sweet paprika or cayenne pepper for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. In a blender, combine 200g of cooked chestnuts and 100g of drained chickpeas. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of tahini, juice of one lemon, 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, and salt to taste. Blend again until well combined.
  4. If the hummus is too thick, add a bit of water or chickpea cooking juice to reach desired consistency.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a bowl, garnish with paprika or cayenne pepper and a drizzle of olive oil. Serve with fresh veggies or toasted bread.

Notes

For perfectly creamy hummus, roast chestnuts at 180°C for 25 minutes before blending.
