Description

A delicious and easy-to-make gratin of sweet potatoes layered with melty cheese and fresh herbs.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 sweet potatoes
  • 200 g grated Gruyère cheese
  • 100 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 300 ml heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into thin rounds.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a baking dish, layer sweet potatoes, top with cream mixture and Gruyère.
  5. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes until golden and tender.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

Fresh herbs make a significant difference in flavor. If you don’t have thyme or sage, Italian seasoning works as a substitute.
