Description
A simple and decadent rice cake with caramel and vanilla that will impress your taste buds without requiring extensive culinary skills.
Ingredients
Scale
- 150 g de riz rond
- 500 ml de lait entier
- 100 g de sucre
- 50 g de beurre
- 2 g d’agar-agar
- 1 cuillère à café d’extrait de vanille
- une pincée de sel
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, cook 150 g of round rice in 500 ml of boiling water for about 10 minutes until tender but slightly firm. Drain to keep it impeccable.
- In a large saucepan, gently heat 500 ml of whole milk with the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Avoid boiling, but let infuse for about 5 minutes.
- Add the drained rice into the warm milk mixture, incorporating 100 g of sugar and stir well. Let simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes, stirring regularly.
- Dissolve 2 g of agar-agar in a bit of cold water then add it to the mixture while stirring. Bring to a boil for two minutes to activate the agar-agar.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and fold in 50 g of cut butter until melted. Pour the mixture into a greased or lined mold. Let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Once well chilled, carefully unmold your Délicieux Gâteau de Riz on a serving platter. You can top it with homemade caramel sauce or fresh fruits for a colorful and appetizing touch.
Notes
Make sure to avoid overcooking the milk and not forgetting the agar-agar, or else the texture will be off.
