- 8 slices of bread
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of cheese (Gruyère or Emmental)
- Butter
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- On four slices, place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
- Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden.
- Serve hot.
Notes
For an added kick, spread some mustard on the bread before adding ham and cheese. You can also use whole grain bread for a healthier option.
