Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350℉ (175℃). Spray a 9×13-inch metal pan with nonstick spray and line it with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl and whisk in the sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla, whisk until smooth.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients, then fold in the chocolate chips. Divide the dough in half and press one half into the prepared pan.
- Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty, about 3 to 6 minutes.
- Mix the browned butter with semi-sweet chocolate until melted, add vegetable oil and cocoa powder, and let cool slightly.
- Whisk eggs and granulated sugar until dissolved, then mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add the warm chocolate mixture and flour.
- Spread brownie batter on top of cookie dough, then dollop remaining cookie dough on the top.
- Bake for 38 to 44 minutes until the brownies are shiny and the edges are golden.
- Let cool in the pan for 1 to 2 hours before slicing. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.

Use high-quality butter for a deeper flavor. Watch the baking time closely as brookies continue to cook slightly after being removed from the oven.
